So I’m checking my email today, and I get a Meetup invitation to join a networking group for writers. At first glance, I see in the introduction that there are 2 misspelled words and 1 capitalization error.I didn’t join because of that.
Think about your target audience, I mentally say to the group moderator. I want to network with people who can help make me a better writer, so I’m a little uneasy when I see mistakes in an intro. It’s one thing to have a typo in the middle of a blog (it’s a lot of content sometimes!), it’s another to have it in the “selling” portion of your website for writers.
I wonder how many people will recognize the errors. I wonder if anyone will tell the moderator about it.
