Writing Insight, June: Book Trailer Help (aka writing a screen script)

So I’ve read a screenplay script or two before, I’ve graded several (a former class project), but I’ve only ever attempted writing a screenplay twice in my life. And they were small commercial endeavors.

My latest endeavor, a book trailer for my first novel will be my 3rd attempt at really writing in screenplay format. Still, I want to know what I am doing and saying in a screenplay. If you think novel agents are picky about format… sheesh.

There are a host of resources online if you’re thinking about writing a script for a book trailer or commercial. My suggestion if you do want to write a full movie screenplay is to take a class. But in the meantime, I found this great site with some really good screenplay terminology to help.
